Gar Man Jack

           Copyright 2007 2011

Jack Barnett was a most unusual sort of man. He developed a love for fishing early in life growing up in south Georgia.

When war broke out in 1941, Jack answered the call and enlisted in the Merchant Marine and served until 1945.

After the war Jack married his sweetheart Louise and they remained married all these years.

Jack went into the printing business with his brother. After retirement he settled down on the shores of Lake Lanier to spend retirement fishing for Gar, making fish prints, gar lures and many hand crafted treasures.

Jack will be missed by many. Me in particular as he was one of my best friends.

Love ya Jack. And I miss you buddy.

It is with a great deal of sadness that I must post this change to the site. On December 15th, 2011 at 8:30 AM, Gar Man Jack passed away at home after a brief illness. He will be missed by all of us that knew him and loved him. He is survived by his wife and family.
